Deleting folders containing files with too long file path

Here is a little trick that allows to delete those pesky folders with files exceeding maximum file path limit:

  • Download and install free 7-ZIP utility.
  • Open 7-ZIP and navigate to the problematic folder.
  • Select the folder and press SHIFT + DELETE keys on your keyboard. Confirm deletion.
SHIFT is required in order to delete files without sending them to the recycle bin (which is likely to fail with long path names)
