This is an example of creating and enabling a global journalling on Exchange 2007 or SBS 2008
Create a new Storage Group and Database
Open Exchange Management Console (EMC)
Server Configuration > [Server Name] > New Storage Group
Specify Storage Group name and file path and click New.
EMC > Server Configuration > [Server Name] > Journaling Storage Group > New Mailbox Database
Specify Database name and file path and click New.
Create and secure a new user
EMC > Recipient Configuration > Mailbox > New Mailbox
Create a new user mailbox and place it into newly created Journaling Database.
Select your new Journaling account and click on Properties
General Tab > Select “Hide from Exchange address lists”
Mail Flow Settings Tab > Message Delivery Restrictions > Accept messages from > Only senders in the following list
Add “Microsoft Exchange“
Select “Require that all senders are authenticated“
Enable Journaling globally
EMC > Organisation Configuration > Hub Transport > New Journal Rule
Enter a name for the Journaling Rule and select “Global – All Messages“
