Issue

Zooming in and out on Google Maps, Strava, Garmin and similar websites using a mouse wheel is very fast and rough in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. It works fine in the built-in macOS Safari browser.

Resolution

The issue was resolved by enabling Hardware Acceleration in browser settings.

In both, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge this is located in: Settings > System > Use hardware acceleration when available.

You’ll need to restart the browser for changes to take effect.
