iPhone visual voicemail play button greyed out

Issue

Cannot listen to some of the iPhone visual voicemail messages as the “Play” button is greyed out.

Resolution

Normally this can be resolved by doing a soft-reset – holding power and home buttons for about 10 seconds (until Apple logo appears).
