Issue

Cannot add Exchange 2007 email account to MS Outlook 2010 email client. The action fails with error:

The action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list.

Outlook client and Exchange server are on the same local network.

Resolution

Issue was caused by option “Hide from Exchange address list” being enabled in user’s Exchange account properties.

To resolve, simply unchecked the option and repeat the Outlook “Add Account” wizard.
